Getting Back on Track

For the second time in a week, I’ll type this saying.

If you want to see God laugh, show him your plans.

As someone who has felt personally attacked by this saying almost his entire life, it is easily the truest statement in the world. It doesn’t have to be God, it could just be the universe, karma, or just the natural order of things.

If you have a plan, expect it to go off the rails.

This blog is highly evident of it.

I’ve been desperately wanting to get back to writing on my book, as well as regular blog posts. The blog posts help me draw in my attention and drive me to work on the book more.

Life, however, has taken control of most if not my free time in the last 2 years.

Having said that, I have spent a chunk of my weekend trying to create a schedule for myself. A way to keep myself on track on multiple fronts.

Consider this post one in planning out what is to come.

Number 1 Priority

The health and well-being of my family. This is always number 1 and anyone who knows me knows that this is always at the forefront of who I am and always takes up the most time. Everything listed below are to be secondary to this.

Projects

Podcasts – We just wrapped on season 3 of Duel of the Greats. Check it out wherever you find podcasts. We are already KneeDeepintheDerp of planning season 4. I’ve also almost finalized the list of movies for the return of The Reel Superhero Project. I have to other podcast projects that are a way out and am excited to talk about those in the future. Writing- Two blog posts a week, and at minimal 2 complete Chapters. The blog posts can easily be done and scheduled in one sitting, as the word count easily hits about 12% of that of a chapter when I write. The finding the time for the book writing will be the key. I have 2 projects, one being Thin Veils, that I want to complete within the next Calander year. I want to set a first completed draft schedule for TV, and hit it.

I was also asked about the music blog posts that I had talked about in a past blog and I definitely want to do backgrounds on the music I listen to. It’s one of my huge passions in life.

A healthier me – I need to be in better shape. I don’t just mean physical but mental. I’ve already taken steps in the last week to work on that, including actively looking for a therapist. I’m also working at rebuilding friendships I’ve lost and let slip over the years. It’s easy to get lost in the rut that life throws at us. Work, Home, Sleep, repeat. I need to find the time to work on those relationships, and work on improving my physical ability to live. I’m 43 now and really tired of the chronic pain.

Over the next couple of weeks I will start by breaking down these projects and deciding the best way to plan them out, but prioritizing each one individually.

I know my traffic on this blog isn’t a lot, and most of it comes from friends and family who see the posts on social media. But it’s more about me getting things out of my head. SO if you are reading this, I appreciate the support.

Stay Awesome.
