75 Hard: Week 2 – Working Through It

2 weeks officially in the book!

Huge thank you for all the support I’ve gotten over the last couple weeks!

Before I continue I must make a correction to my blog from last week. My friend, Jessica, whom pushed me to do this with her pointed out that I incorrectly referred to 75 Hard as a physical challenge. While yes, with two 45 minute workouts being apart of the daily regiment, it’s not actually a physical challenge. It’s a mental one. It’s about making the decision to do something, and sticking to it, no matter what roadblocks come along the way.

So far I’ve been blessed to not have many roadblocks hindering me in my journey. I’ve had a day or two where I groaned knowing what I had to do that day but nothing that I really pushed against. I am aware, however, that those days will eventually come.

The biggest hurdle I’ve had have been finding time for my second workout in the day. A combination of light weight training, stretches and cardio for an additional 45 minutes a day has been managed but not as easily as I had hoped. Luckily theres plenty of time for me to find a rhythm.

The early morning walks while the Midwest is currently in it’s first false fall stage (Meaning it’s the end of August and we’ve had a couple 50 degree mornings, when we all know it’s be hotter than Satan’s ass crack in a week), have been absolutely amazing. Borderline hoodie weather, fall is one of my favorite times of the year.

One of the biggest contributors to my success is my use of music to drive me while I walk or workout. It’s only appropriate that I talk about this today with me starting my Music Monday posts on the blog.

I mentioned in a previous post that I have an Adrenaline playlist that I listen to that has mostly remained unchanged, with a handful of songs added here and there. It contains some Hip-Hop, Rock, and even a little country. Songs that have an up-tempo beat or aggressive lyrics that are meant to inspire or push the idea of “not giving a fuck” fills the spaces between my ears.

I prepared for week 3 to be harder than week 2, but I am here for it. If anyone has any musical suggestions, drop them in the comments here or on any social media platform you find this on, or shoot me an email at psaprez@gmail.com

See you Next Week!
