75 Hard R2: Week 2

Week 2 Down. Let’s talk about it.

Diet Struggles

I’ve found it a challenge to hit my carb and calorie goals each day. Not to the extent of staying UNDER them, but getting up to them. SO the calorie and carb cycling isn’t going as great as I’d like. I plan on bucking down this weekend and organizing a better plan to hit those numbers over the next several days.

I find it funny that I’m struggling to considering that I thought by doing the carb cycling, the allowance of increasing my carb intake would be easy to accomplish considering that I just restricted myself during round 1. Yet, I’ve found that due to round 1, my desire to eat more has gone down, and eat things that aren’t for me has also decreased.

So my real challenge I plan on working on this weekend is to gather food ideas that don’t push past my new restrictions or push me beyond my comfortable eating capabilities. More whole veggies, and some fruit and increase some protein and add carbs.

Exercise Update

I’ve made it to the gym 4 times this week!

I’ve also done something in two of those visits I haven’t done in… I actually don’t remember when.

I ran.

This past Monday at the end of my visit and doing only a treadmill to try and work on walking faster, I said screw it and was able to run for two full minutes. It wasn’t sprinting, but just regular running.

On Friday I cycled through a slow walk and up to a 2 minute run before cycling back down and then repeating it again. Got my heart rate up to 170. Once I was back down to a slow walk again, I did some rowing for the last 15 minutes. Was the m ost productive workout I’ve had in years. I’m looking forward to the opportunities the gym brings me in increasing my workout routine.
